TVP Solar inaugurated its first utility-scale solar district heating plant in Germany, developed for Stadtwerke Sondershausen.
This cutting-edge plant features 6,086 m² of our advanced TVP MT-Power v4 high-vacuum solar thermal panels, for 4.7 MW of renewable heat, and 1,000 m³ TES capacity. This system is set to deliver over 3 GWh/year of heat at up to 93°C, even in the challenging low-irradiance conditions of Germany.
Impact:
– Saves 368,000 m³ of natural gas annually
– Cuts CO2 emissions by 732 tons each year
The performance of this plant has already been validated against ISO 24194 standards, proving its efficiency in delivering sustainable heat throughout the year—even during winter, in sub-zero temperatures, rain, or snow, when it’s needed the most.
This system sets a new standard for solar district heating, with innovation both in the solar field and in the technical room.
